Passenger amenities works at Bhubaneswar and Sakhigopal Railway Stations including Bhubaneswar Station 2nd Entry & Station Building, New Booking Office with Reserved and Unreserved Ticketing System at Platform-6 side will be dedicated to the public on 30TH December, 2017 (Saturday) by Hon’ble Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain.
New Booking Office with Reserved & Unreserved Ticketing System at Sakhigopal Railway Station will also be dedicated to the public through video conferencing from Bhubaneswar.
New Station Building at PF No.6 of Bhubaneswar Station has been completed at a cost of Rs. 1.97 Crores having facilities like Booking Counter cum Lobby, Second Class Waiting Hall, Upper Class Waiting Hall, Food Plaza, TCI Office, Toilets for Divyang Passengers, Pay & Use Toilets and Circulating area with Barricade.
Similarly, New Station Building at Sakhigopal Station has been completed at a cost of Rs. 1.55 Crores having facilities like Booking Counter cum Lobby, Second Class Waiting Hall, Toilets for Ladies & Gents, Circulating area and Approach Road.
Shri Gohain, Minister of State for Railways is also expected to review the performance of East Coast Railway and the progress of various infrastructure related projects which are crucial to the industrial development of Odisha and Northern Andhra Pradesh.
Due to technical/ administrative reasons, the Entry Road to Bhubaneswar Railway Station from Cuttack Road-Laxmi Sagar side will be Restricted/Closed for public from 09.00a.m. to 2.00p.m. on 30.12.2017 (Saturday), as a planned crowd-control and smooth traffic flow measure.
East Coasty Railway appealed the passengers to use old Station Bazar side/ Cuttack Road-Kalpana Square side or may use main entry at Master Canteen Square during the period.
