Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved license for Jharsuguda airport. By which demand for an airport in western Odisha is soon going to be fulfilled soon.
Jharsuguda will be the second airport of Odisha after Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has welcomed the decision. In a tweet office of the CM said “welcomed accordance of license by DGCA to Odisha’s second airport at Jharsuguda. Air connectivity will fulfill people’s aspirations & boost socio-economic progress in western Odisha. State Government will provide all support for early operations at airport.”
The airport will be operational under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) – Udan (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik).
