Odisha DGP reviewed the crime control and maintenance of Law and Order in the State

Dr. R.P.Sharma, DGP today reviewed the crime control and maintenance of Law and Order in the State with the Supdt. of Police, DCsP and Range IGsP/DIsGP through video conferencing at State Police Headquarters Cuttack. Senior Police Officers of State Police Headquarters were present in this video conference. DGP took a thorough review of the Crime Scenario and asked the SsP to take special interest in the day to day policing work and take leadership from the front. In the earlier review through video conference on 13.2.2018.

DGP directed the SsP to take up special drive in their respective Districts on Execution of NBWs, arrest of absconders / accused, opening of Criminal Dossiers, booking of anti-socials u/s 110 CRPC, closure of pending cognizable cases and arrest of dreaded and hardcore criminals under NSA. During the review it was found that a total of 7746 no’s of pending cognizable cases have been closed, 6119 no’s of NBW executed, 1150 no’s of absconder / accused persons have been arrested, 1178 u/s 110 CRPC have been initiated, 15 proposals under NSA have been initiated and 1031 dossiers opened during this specific period from 15th February to 8th March, 2018.

DGP expressed his satisfaction with the overall performance of District SsP and advised them to continue their efforts in the future days also. DGP Dr. R.P.Sharma specifically appreciated the performance of SsP of Cuttack Rural, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Berhampur, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi and Keonjhar for their better performance.

          It will be pertinent to mention here that the SsP have closed 7746 no’s of pending cases in their Districts against the target of 13,885 fixed for them. Similarly they have executed 6119 NBW cases against the target of 12018 given to them during the period 15.2.2018 to 8.3.2018.
