Illegal transportion of coal from Dhamara to Basudevpur caught by Police

Working on a tip-off, the patrolling party of Naikanidhi p.s in Bhadrak District raided one coal-loaded insolated van bearing No- OID-3281 on Dhamara-Basudevpur road last night. The van was allegedly transporting coal from Dhamara to Basudevpur. Police have arrested two persons in this connection.

The arrestees have been identified as Purustam Barik, S/o sudhakar Barik and Subash Khilar, s/o Duryodhan Khilar of Krushnapur village. Naikanidhi P.S. have registered a case vide no- 87 Dtd 01.07.2018 u/s 379/411/21 MMDR Act. Police have recovered 50 bags each contains 40 k.g of smuggled coal from the van. Police have also seized the involved vehicle carrying coal. Inspector G. Pradhan, IIC of Naikanidhi P.S. has been appointed as I.O in the case. Further investigation is on.
