McDonald’s India App realised customer data

McDonald’s India application McDelivery released individual data of its clients for an unspecified span of time on Saturday.This included “name, email address, telephone number, place of residence, precise home co-ordinates, and social profile links” for more than 2.2 million of its clients. 

After an autonomous blog claimed that organization was releasing personal data of over 2.2 million users in India, McDonald’s  authorities said its website and mobile app do not store financial data of customers. “We might want to illuminate our clients that our site and application does not store any sensitive financial data of the users like credit card details, wallets passwords or bank account information,” said a McDonald’s India spokesperson.

It  also asked its clients from its McDelivery  service in India to update the app on their smartphones as a precaution.
